The Spring Museum

The Museum at The Spring Arts & Heritage Centre celebrates and recognises the history of our Borough, the people who have lived here and their stories.

Our Museum is open Monday to Saturday, 10am – 4pm and for one hour before evening performances.

Entry to the museum is free.

Highlights of the Museum:
  • Find out how life was lived in Havant with our collection of objects that look at local life thoughout history
  • Explore our 1950s re-created kitchen and decide if you could manage without a microwave or freezer
  • Discover the past glory of the Hayling Billy train line with displays, films and an interactive model
  • Explore fascinating facts about famous local brands, including Scalextric, Tampax and Kenwood.
  • Enjoy the beauty of three hand-painted Royal Doulton wall tile panels that once adorned the walls of the Havant War Memorial Hospital children’s ward

The Spring Cafe and Bar

Our welcoming café serves a variety of hot and cold lunch options, homemade cakes, and hot drinks, all prepared by our friendly team. Families are well catered for with our children’s lunchboxes, locally made ice cream, and refreshing milkshakes. Check out our current daytime food menu here.

Our Role Play Area

Have fun exploring our well-equipped role play area here at The Spring – open 10am to 4pm from Monday to Saturday and free for all families. The role play area is situated next to our comfortable cafe, which serves drinks, lunches and homemade cakes.

Children love to play make-believe and the huge benefit of imaginative role play to their educational, creative and social development is widely recognised.

How to get to us

The Spring is just a short walk from Havant rail and bus stations. A Pay and Display car park is located near to the venue, but spaces are limited. Should the car park be full, there are multiple options within a short walking distance and are open 24 hours.

Opening hours

The Spring’s usual opening hours are 10am-4pm Monday to Saturday, closed on Sundays. The building is open 1 hour before evening performances.

Cafe – Monday-Saturday, 10am – 3pm (Hot food served until 2.30pm)
Bar – Opens 1 hour before an evening show
Museum – Monday-Saturday, 10am – 4pm
Box Office – Monday-Saturday, 10am – 4pm (and 1 hour before an evening performance)
